New GM for USA
 Tony Firth has been made General Manager of Negri Bossi USA. Many people will have known Tony from his days at Sandretto UK where he was Northern Sales Manager progressing through to Sales Director by the turn of the century. Tony then moved to the USA to run Sandretto Inc.
Even though Tony moved to the USA many years ago he still has a strong Yorkshire accent and many of our Northern customers will remember him for his blunt and enthusiastic manner. Tony was responsible for bringing Carl Futcher, our UK Managing Director, into the Plastics business 26 years ago so his links with Negri Bossi are very strong.

Negri Bossi investing in Germany
NEGRI BOSSI, a member of the Sacmi Imola Group of companies which is already active in Germany with four companies, is investing in this important European area by establishing a qualified technical after-sales service, and opening of a new showroom on the outskirts of Frankfurt with demonstration and tool trial facilities.
Furthermore, a significant stock of spare parts will be available in order to give to the customers the service they expect from a major European supplier, who have been at the forefront of injection moulding machine development since 1947, and has established a world reputation for quality and reliability.

ALL ELECTRIC PERFORMANCE FOR THE PRICE OF A STANDARD CANBIO MACHINE!
Following an initiative from Negri Bossi Milan we will now be offering our Smart Energy ‘SE’ solution free of charge on all Canbio machines ordered before the end of 2011.
In the case of Smart Energy, the electric Servo motor runs at variable RPM, with closed loop control via the invertor drive and in parallel with the variable delivery of the pump. In this situation the controller optimizes the motor RPM with the displacement of the pump in order to deliver the required volume of oil in the most efficient combination. As well as providing improved efficiencies in all situations (due to optimum motor/pump combination), remarkable savings are achieved during the idle parts of the cycle, notably during hold on time and cooling phase. During these phases the electric motor can drop to 600 RPM therefore achieving a huge reduction in power consumption.
The SE solution carries between a 10 to 15% price premium (depending on model) and includes the following features:
- Energy consumption as low as All Electric technology (depending on cycle breakdown)
- All Electric noise levels
- Superior shot weight precision due to faster response time of change over to hold on pressure.
- Dramatically increased life of the hydraulic oil
- Reduced chiller running costs
- Increased hydraulic component life
